What is URJ Camp Giving Day?

URJ Camp Giving Day is a fundraising event on May 7, 2026, uniting all 14 URJ summer camps across North America. Alumni, parents, faculty, campers, and community members come together to raise the funds that make transformative summer experiences possible for 12,000 Jewish youth each year.

When does URJ Camp Giving Day start and end?

The campaign kicks off right after Passover, with camps inviting their communities to sign up as Camp Champions and reach their personal networks. The big day is May 7 — expect emails, social posts, and texts inviting you to give and celebrate together. The competition closes on May 8 at 12 pm ET | 9 am PT, when all prizes are finalized. Camp fundraising pages stay open after that, in case there are friends who missed giving on the 7th.

How can I participate in URJ Camp Giving Day?

There are a few ways to get involved beyond donating. Share your camp story on social media, tag your camp friends, and invite your network to give. Text your friends and family directly. Ready to go all in? Sign up as a Camp Champion at URJ.org/CampChampion to unlock exclusive swag and additional funding for your camp. Every gift, every share, every ask adds up to real impact for our campers.

Where will the money raised go?

Every dollar raised by a camp stays with that camp. Visit each camp’s fundraising page to see exactly what your gift supports. Some camps are raising funds for scholarships, others for facilities, programming, or wherever the need is greatest. The one exception is the URJ Camping page, where donations support all 14 camps collectively rather than a single one.

How do the prizes work?

Visit URJ.org/Prizes to see the full prize lineup. We designed the prizes so every camp has a shot at winning, regardless of size or age of the camp. Some prizes go to the top fundraisers, while others are lottery-based. This means any camp that hits a certain milestone is entered into a random drawing. There’s a prize within reach for every camp!

How do I win swag?

Swag is offered by each camp for camp champions that earn badges. Visit URJ.org/CampChampion to learn more.

Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes! All camps are part of the Union for Reform Judaism, a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization. Your donation is tax-deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law. To claim a donation as a deduction on your U.S. taxes, please keep your email donation receipt as your official record. We’ll send it to you upon successful completion of your donation.

How do I make a gift by phone or mail?

Please call us at 212-650-4140. You may send gifts by mail in the United States to: Attn: Development Office, Union for Reform Judaism, 633 Third Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, NY 10017. Checks should be made payable to Union for Reform Judaism. Please indicate which camp your gift is directed towards and that the gift was inspired by URJ Camp Giving Day.

How do I make a gift of security funds, mutual funds, or stock?

Please contact our donor relations team at 212-650-4140 or development@urj.org for information on making gifts of mutual fund shares, stock, or securities before initiating your transfer. The URJ must be notified of asset transfers to credit gifts to you.

How do I give by a donor-advised fund (DAF)?

Giving through your DAF is easier than ever. On any camp’s fundraising page, simply select DAF as your payment method at checkout — we’ll be notified of your gift right away. You can also recommend a grant directly from your DAF using our EIN: 13-1663143. Questions? Contact us at 212-650-4140 or development@urj.org.

I gave through ACH. Why isn’t it showing up on the donor list or campaign page?

When you give through ACH, your gift takes longer to process than a credit card donation—typically between 5 to 10 business days. This delay means your donation won’t appear right away on the campaign’s live donor page or totals. Your gift will still be included for all the prizes listed at URJ.org/Prizes!
